SAMPLE SALE – Hand woven, mixed yarn, BoHo Scarf
Description
This scarf is the first I have woven in some years so I am selling it as a sample because it does have imperfections that I’d like you to be aware of.
First the good bits, the scarf is a complete mish mash of colours and textures which give it a very unusual and Bohemian look. Some blocks of colour have sparkly bits, others are mottled and muted. The fibres are wool mix and acrylic. The tassels are hand twisted in candy stripes from the warp threads. It measures approx 170cm x 19cm.
The other, not so good bits when things are made by hand!
As I raced away, excited to be weaving again, I forgot to weave in the loose tail ends every time I made a colour change as I went along. This resulted in a finished scarf with all the loose ends to weave in afterwards. The ends never blend in completely when you do it afterwards and because of the variety of mixed yarns I used, some are quite thick and clunky which means there is a definite front and back to the scarf. I have shown 4 photos with a pointer to make you aware of the sewn in ends on the rear side of the scarf which are visible.
This is an imperfection and is reflected in the price. If you like handmade things a bit more rustic then perhaps it won’t bother you too much.
The scarf has been pre washed to settle the fibres. Always hand wash.
Made in East Yorkshire.
